The pressure is on to hold the correct qualification for the yacht you are working on; it is no longer acceptable to skipper a motor yacht with a Yachtmaster SAIL licence. Make the conversion with a specialised training course with AIGUA. Train for three days with the examination on the fourth day. The course fee includes FUEL.

Additional expenses: Each exam candidate contributes €65.00 euro towards the flights and travel expenses of the examiner. We advise the candidates to pay their examination fees directly to the RYA on the reverse of their examination application form: allow 100.00gbp for a conversion examination and 32.00gbp for a commercial endorsement. Payment for examinations can be paid through the school but please note an international bank transfer fee will be applied.  

Due to a dramatic increase in fuel prices, we have no choice but to increase the course fee by €75.00 euro per person. We still believe it's better for you to pay an inclusive fee rather than be taken to the fuel quay on the last day and be asked for your credit cards.

This four-day course gives you the opportunity to skipper a motor cruiser on short passages under instruction. You will concentrate on pilotage, boat handling, seamanship and navigation. Taking the course here in Mallorca will provide you with a non-tidal course completion certificate. Aigua will advise you on your application for an International Certificate of Competence (ICC). Following the course you should be competent to skipper a motor cruiser in familiar waters by day.

You can tie your Day Skipper practical with the theory course: an eight day concentrated training course to provide you with the full Day Skipper qualification. We refer to this as the COMBO. Contact us for details.

This two-day course covers basic boat handling, helmsmanship, safety and basic engine maintenance. It is ideal for the new owner who is conscious of the difficulty and potential hazards of boat handling in the marina. This course is usually done on an ‘own boat’ basis as it is ideal for new owners to get to know their new motor cruiser.

A five-day course for the more ambitious motor cruising skipper wanting to undertake coastal passages by day and night. On the course each trainee will skipper a passage in a variety of situations and learn more about safety, passage planning, pilotage by day and night, boat handling and emergency situations. It is recommended that you attend this course with some experience: 15 days at sea, two days as ‘skipper’, 300 miles sea miles logged and eight night hours.
